JAMES THOMAS APPOINTED AS PEYIA-AKAMAS LADIES FC HEAD COACH

THE CLUB'S FIRST HEAD COACH

Peyia-Akamas Ladies FC has appointed James Thomas as its first Head Coach.

Thomas takes responsibility for the club's footballing programme, bringing extensive experience from professional football and the women's game.

His appointment represents the first coaching leadership position announced by the club.

MORE THAN TWO DECADES IN FOOTBALL

Thomas arrives with over 20 years of experience across different areas of the game.

His career has included work in professional club football, international football and player development.

That experience has taken him through a variety of coaching environments and provided exposure to different levels of the sport.

A QUALIFIED UEFA COACH

Thomas holds several recognised coaching and talent-development qualifications.

His credentials include the UEFA A Licence, UEFA Elite Youth Licence and FA Level 3 Talent Identification qualification.

Alongside his coaching work, his background includes identifying and developing footballing talent.

INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE

Thomas has also worked within the international game.

He served as Head Coach of the Trinidad & Tobago Women's National Team, gaining experience of managing an international women's side.

His career also includes work as an Assistant Coach with the Wales Women's National Teams.

These positions have given him experience working with players and staff in international football environments.

EXPERIENCE ACROSS THE WOMEN'S GAME

Thomas has held senior roles within women's club football in England.

His previous experience includes positions with Bristol City Women and Newcastle United Women.

His career therefore covers both domestic women's football and the international game.

COACHING DEVELOPMENT

Thomas' work has also extended beyond his responsibilities with individual teams.

He has contributed to coaching development and has presented for organisations and programmes including Elite Soccer Coaching and the English FA Women's Coach Development Programme.

His background combines coaching, talent identification and the development of football professionals.

THOMAS ON HIS NEW ROLE

Speaking about joining Peyia-Akamas Ladies FC, Thomas said:

“I'm excited to join Peyia-Akamas LFC. This is a club with real ambition, and I'm looking forward to building an environment where every player and member of staff can be genuinely proud of what we achieve together.”

Thomas also spoke about the work already taking place around the club and the opportunity to contribute to its footballing structure.

A NEW RESPONSIBILITY

As the club's first Head Coach, Thomas will lead the footballing side of the organisation and work with the players and wider staff.

His appointment brings his experience from English club football and international women's football into his new role with Peyia-Akamas Ladies FC.

James Thomas is now the man entrusted with leading the club from the technical area.
